O'Rourke Withdraws Objection to Metro-North 3rd track plan
Westchester County Executive Andrew O'Rourke withdrew his objection to the inclusion of Metro-North's Harlem line third-track plan in the regional Transportation Improvement Program. O'Rourke relented after the MTA agreed it would defer to the Federal Transit Administration's judgment on the need for an EIS for the project. Residents in Bronxville and Tuckahoe oppose the plan as disruptive to their communities -- they packed a NYMTC meeting several weeks ago. (The Campaign agreed to support the MTA on the project at its June board meeting but no correspondence has been issued --Jeff Z. and Maureen, can you send your materials on this to Jon Orcutt?).
