Federal Transportation Appropriations Bill Details

The recent federal transportation appropriations bill for fiscal 1995 not only contained a widely publicized $40 million for moving Penn Station into the 8th Avenue Farley post office building. It also extended for another 12 months the one-way toll collection scheme on the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and contained critical funding for New Jersey "urban core" rail projects, including the Secaucus transfer, a Hoboken-Penn Station link and Newark-Elizabeth light rail.
