South Brunswick Says Route 92 will Destroy Landscape and Change Zoning

A letter from a South Brunswick Planning Board member to the Star Ledger this week said that the NJ Turnpike Authority's proposed Route 92 will "force severe changes in local zoning, destroy thousands of acres of landscape...as well as uproot businesses and families. The changes in zoning alone will bring more traffic and place an increased financial burden on the South Brunswick school system and residents." South Brunswick has proposed facilitating east-west travel demand with upgraded and new local routes, which the letter says "would provide jobs for the unions, one of the most vocal supporters of Route 92."
