Straphangers Ads: Pataki's Cuts to Crush Riders
The Straphangers Campaign, Transport Workers Union and Local 1199 Health and Human Services Union installed ads urging transit riders to protest transit budget cuts in every one of NYC Transit's 6,000 subway cars this week. The ads are in the form of a newspaper front page headlined "Pataki's Cuts to Crush Riders" and ask transit riders to call Governor Pataki's New York City office at 212-417-2100. "If [subway and bus riders] don't spend a quarter to call the Governor now, they'll end up paying a quarter more for each subway ride," said the Straphangers Campaign.
