NJTransit Northeast Corridor Line to Allow Bicycles

New Jersey Transit's Northeast Corridor line will permit bicycles on board its trains starting May 15. Not only is NJ Transit's most heavily used line now bike accessible, but cyclists can also travel (off-peak) by train between Philadelphia and New York by connecting with bike-friendly SEPTA trains in Trenton. Transportation Alternatives convinced NJ Transit to start bike-on-rail service on other lines in 1992. With new rolling stock, Transit's Northeast Corridor line trains will carry up to eight bikes each. For more information, call NJ Transit at 201-491-7000 or Transportation Alternatives at 212-475-4600.
