Around the Region: Bike Lane Expansions Questioned
A resolution approved in December by Manhattan's Community Board 6 (east side of Midtown) seeks to prohibit installation of bicycle lanes on any street or avenue in the neighborhood. The resolution reasoned that bike lanes, a network of which the NYC DOT is slowly extending, would conflict "with normal automobile or pedestrian [street] usage."
