Around the Region: Q79 Bus To Be Cut
The MTA has withdrawn plans to extend eastern Queens' Q-79 bus route into Floral Park, Nassau County. Village residents protested the added service, arguing the buses would threaten traffic safety and add to congestion. MTA officials had planned the extension to attract additional riders after State Sen. Frank Padavan protested a plan to eliminate the route entirely. Daily News
