Around The Region: LIE HOV Lanes Earlier Then Expected
The NY State DOT said last week that Long Island Expressway HOV lanes will be open for midday general use by mid-summer -- six months earlier than planned. The DOT announced in January it would relax HOV-lane restrictions, but predicted it would take a year to change the signs.
