Around The Region: NYCTA Electronic Message Signs Coming
The NYC Transit Authority plans to install electronic message screens in 54 subway stations by the end of next year. The signs would hang above subway platforms and inform riders of train frequency and service delays. Assemblyman Scott Stringer called the project "boondoggle spending" in light of more pressing needs like station rehabs and keeping token booths open. NY Times
