Around the Region: NJ Route 518 Truck Fight
Hopewell township, East Amwell and Montgomery residents have initiated a "neighborhood effort" against 18-wheeler trucks on Route 518, where truck traffic has skyrocketed in the past year. Locals say truckers use the winding rural road to avoid Rte. 206, where officials have cracked down on speeding. Hopewell residents fear DOT plans to "improve" the Rte. 518/Rte. 31 intersection with a cloverleaf will invite more big rigs. Trenton Times
