Around the Region: Water Utilitiy Takes Ringwood Bypass To Task
A water utility that owns part of the proposed route for the Ringwood Ave. Bypass announced Tuesday that the it opposes the upper Passaic County road project. Also, the N. Jersey District Water Supply Commission, which owns other parts of the proposed route, denied claims by Wanaque officials that the Commission and County had made a deal for use of the right-of-way. The proposed bypass would sit atop water supply pipelines serving Bergen County, blocking the utility company's access and leaving the lines vulnerable to the highway's vibrations. Wanaque officials formally backed the project last week, noting it would provide access to a large undeveloped tract of land. Record
