On March 9, the PA's Deputy Project Manager, Paul Bakus, supported the linkage of the JFK Airport light rail system to the defunct Rockaway Branch of Long Island Rail Road. The present designs call for the light rail to pass directly over the LIRR cut, making the connection seemingly simple. It's unclear whether present efforts to revive the line will factor in airport access in the near future.
