Despite fears of lower use and traffic diversion to local routes
after November's toll increase, Atlantic City Expressway revenues have
soared, officials say. Expressway revenues in December surged 56% after
the hike, which doubled most tolls, according to statistics compiled by
the South Jersey Transportation Authority. The Authority sought the extra
tolls to increase capital spending. Associated Press
