Around the Region - Charter Bus Drivers
Working Illegal Hours
Drivers of charter buses in the region - like some of those
that ply the NYC-Atlantic City route, work illegally long hours and cover
it up with a fake log books, according to an investigation by the Staten
Island Advance. Drivers told the paper some of them work long hours
to make ends meet, while others say companies pressure them into overtime.
"Quite frankly, most of the work I did on the Atlantic City route
was off the books," one former driver told the Advance.
