Beacon of Hope
Across and up the Hudson, land on the Beacon waterfront owned by Scenic Hudson will also host transit-oriented development. Scenic Hudson hopes to preserve several parcels of land on the Long Dock peninsula, and to develop one that is adjacent to the Beacon Metro-North station. This initiative received a significant boost by the recent announcement that the Dia Center for the Arts would develop a major new museum at a nearby factory site. These developments also increase the viability of proposals for new local transit services.
