Following Metro-North Railroad's discussion of concentrating
cell phone talkers on one train car only, the LIRR Commuter Council
told Newsday that cell phone yakkers came in third, after litter and (non-phone)
loud talking, among train commute irritants in its recent rider survey.
Metro-North spokespeople say they received a worldwide media response after
they mentioned addressing the problem last month, suggesting the problem
is not unique to the NY area.
