Around the Region: Easier Walking at Grand Central
On August 18th, MTA opened Grand Central North - an underground tunnel system that lets passengers walk from Metro-North RR platforms north as far as 48th Street. The tunnels will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekends. They are expected to be used by 35,000 people each rush hour. Daily News
