Hudson-Bergen Light Rail: The Facts

Trains leave 34th St. in Bayonne for Exchange Place in Jersey City on a 23 minute trip every fifteen minutes. A branch line runs from West Side Avenue, joining the Bayonne line at Liberty State Park. From the Park to Exchange Place, the ride is 13 minutes and runs every 7-8 minutes. The light rail runs 310 trips per day. [A Tri-State Transportation Campaign observer made the trip yesterday at mid-day from 34th St. Bayonne to 34th St. Manhattan via the light rail, World Trade Center PATH and 7th Ave. subway in 45 minutes. Cost: $2.50 plus a MetroCard swipe. Getting to the Midtown PATH line from the light rail presently requires a transfer within the PATH system].
