Public Transit Ridership Up Nation-wide

According to figures released by the American Public Transportation Association last week, over 9 billion trips were taken last year in the U.S. on public transportation, representing the highest national ridership in four decades. With a 4.5% cumulative growth rate, growth was recorded across all modes including heavy and light rail, bus systems, and para-transit. The trend was found to hold across small towns, suburban regions, and large cities equally.
