CT's Traffic Reduction Work Slogs Along

The Associated Press reported last week that Connecticut Department of Transportation consultants expect to deliver the first phase of a mass transit marketing study for the I-95 corridor in coming months. The study is central to ConnDOT's plan to comply with the legislated mandate to reduce peak traffic in the I-95 Corridor by 5% within five years.

The results will arrive more than three years after ConnDOT submitted its proposal for reducing traffic along the Corridor to the legislature, and less than two years before the agency is required to meet the reduction goal. A two year progress report released last year showed ConnDOT failing to meet its benchmarks by almost 50% (MTR #261)
