rail station access jitney vehicles to 16 municipalities.

Last weekend, Newsday
outlined a number of NYC projects that received funding earmarks
in 1998's massive transportation bill, but have yet to get off
the ground.

Transit Advocates, Silver Win
An 11th hour agreement announced
Thursday will provide new services to the Grand St. Station, previously
orphaned by Manhattan Bridge repair subway rerouting.
Reclaiming
Times Square
NYC DOT has begun widening
sidewalks in Times Square, along both 7th Avenue and Broadway to make more
space for the area's overflowing pedestrian traffic.

Council Squeezes Accordion Buses
A NYC Council study of the
M79 and M86 bus routes has found that NYC Transit's over-sized articulated
buses had more crashes than regular transit buses.
