Campaign’s twelve-point truck safety platform (MTR
400), submitted to State DOT Commissioner Jack Lettiere
last month. Three additional officials recently voiced

Road Pricing Review
The Economist said this week that foes of the London
road pricing program were in "thunderous retreat." Members
of the Blair government, including the national transport
secretary, who had sniped at London Mayor Ken Livingstone
over the issue, conceded that road pricing’s debut
in London had gone very smoothly and yielded with stunning
initial results.

would cause at least a five year delay for the controversial
Goethals "twin" bridge project.
Mineta Announces Environmental Streamlining
for Lower Manhattan’s Transit System
On Thursday, U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta
announced that the rebuilding of lower Manhattan’s
transit system would be one of six transportation projects
to receive accelerated environmental review.
