Southern NJ's Most Dangerous Roads for Biking (2011)
From 2001 to 2010, 8,281 bicyclists were involved in accidents in eight Southern New Jersey counties (Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean and Salem). During this period, there were 63 bicyclist fatalities.
The maps show the locations of bicyclists in accidents from 2008-2010. Crash locations are described by the street and cross street (when given) provided by NJDOT's Crash Records. Crash locations were mapped by the street and cross street or latitude and longitude given in NJDOT's Crash Records. When a crash occurred in a block and longitude and latitude were not given, mileposts were used to find the location of the crash, when possible.
A red dot denotes a bicyclist killed in an accident; a blue dot denotes a bicyclist involved but not killed in an accident. All accidents are bicyclist-vehicle.
